Richmond water main break impacts parts of Henrico amid ongoing repairs

RICHMOND, Va. — A 36-inch water main break caused low water pressure and outages across parts of Richmond and Henrico County early Friday, with some residents reporting little to no water as they headed into the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Richmond’s Department of Public Utilities detected low pressure in the water system around 1:30 a.m. Friday. Crews traced the problem to a break in a 36-inch line parallel to the canal, below Windsor Farms near the city’s water treatment plant.
