Scooter rider dies after crashing into utility pole in Granby

GRANBY, N.Y. — One person was killed after they crashed their electric scooter, the New York State Police said.

Around 7 a.m. on July, troopers responded to State Route 48 at Melrose Avenue in the Town of Granby for a report of the crash. The report said only the stand-up electric scooter was involved.

A preliminary investigation determined that a 31-year-old man was rider the scooter northbound on State Route 48 when he failed to negotiate a turn, went onto the eastern shoulder and struck a utility pole…
