Local teachers recognized with merit pay awards across Twin Lakes Area

Teachers across the Twin Lakes Area are among nearly 5,000 Arkansas educators being awarded merit pay through the LEARNS Merit Teacher Incentive Fund Program.

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders and the Arkansas Department of Education announced nearly $20 million, including fringe benefits, will be awarded through the program this year. The awards recognize licensed educators for exceptional student growth, mentoring aspiring teachers in yearlong residencies or serving in critical shortage areas.
