ALBANY — Jim Borucinski is one of the city of Albany’s biggest boosters.
Borucinski is a hair stylist in Albany, having worked for more than two decades at The Michael DeNardis Salon across from the federal courthouse on Broadway, although the address is officially 41 State St.
Michael DeNardis started the salon in 2004, but is now in the process of retiring. Back in August 2025, Borucinski took over the lease with Albany Management from DeNardis and remade the salon into Aurora Studio, although DeNardis still sees clients for the time being with Aurora as Borucinski looks to build his roster of stylists under an independent contractor model, or “renters” as the industry calls them…
