Congaree and Penn, the Jacksonville farm, restaurant, and outdoor design company, has recently launched the Roost, a new open-air restaurant serving dishes like the Farmhouse Burger (with pimento cheese, pickled green tomato relish, arugula & red onion on a potato herb bun) and Grill Florida Shrimp (with citrus chile glaze & cilantro).
The news comes in conjunction with the temporary (but substantial) closing of the farm’s longstanding Quonset hut. Its last day for dining was June 14, while the Roost launched on June 19.
“Big news, besties,” said an Instagram post published by Congaree and Penn back in May. “The quonset hut is getting a glow up. Construction will begin this summer and the space will be transformed into a fully enclosed and temperature controlled restaurant (yes, it’s about time). Stay tuned for the grand opening of High Horse this winter.”…
