Louisville man charged in alleged hit-and-run that seriously injured man searching for his cat

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A Louisville man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he struck a man with a vehicle and left the scene in the early hours of July 3, leaving the victim with serious injuries.

Thomas Kolb, 27, is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, first-degree assault and leaving the scene of an accident/failing to render aid.

According to Louisville Metro Police, officers were dispatched to a home in the 5600 block of Juniper Beach Road after a caller reported her father had been hit by a car around 2 a.m. Court and police documents allege the victim had gone outside to look for the family’s cat when he was struck.
