Red Bank residents in several pockets of town remained without power Saturday morning after a severe thunderstorm downed trees and power lines across the state Friday evening.
First Energy’s online outage map showed between 100 and 500 customers without power on Red Bank’s West Side along with smaller pockets of between one and 20 customers without power in other parts. Across the state, 149,000 remained without power as of 9 am, according to the map.
Red Bank’s police and volunteer fire departments were busy in the wake of the storm responding to multiple trees down across town, along with a tree that fell across the NJ Transit train tracks on the Shrewsbury border. NJ Transit police were on the scene shortly after 9 pm…
