Hit-and-run suspect leaves burning car outside middle school near Spokane Valley

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – A 29-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday night after crashing into a parked car and driving away from the scene, then abandoning his vehicle as it caught fire and attempting to escape on foot, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO).

Law enforcement first responded to the 2300 block of North Barker Road around 7:20 p.m., following a report of a hit-and-run collision involving a Subaru Impreza and a parked car. The victim told police that the Subaru had reportedly fled the scene after striking his car.
