As valuable as a week of rest was for an Albany Firebirds team smarting from back-to-back losses and a raft of injuries, Damon Ware said that he’d give his team even more time to recover, if he could.
“It’s been a crazy year of injuries,” Ware said Thursday during a practice at Hudson Valley Community College ahead of Sunday’s road game against the Beaumont Renegades. “We’ve had more injuries this season than we’ve had in the last five combined.”
