Crash shuts down I-8 transition to southbound I-805 in Mission Valley

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A crash involving a single vehicle temporarily shut down the transition from westbound Interstate 8 to southbound Interstate 805 Saturday afternoon, causing traffic delays in the Mission Valley area.

According to a Sig Alert from California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported shortly after 12:30 p.m. on the westbound I-8 connector ramp to southbound I-805.

Initial reports indicated a vehicle crashed into a concrete barrier before coming to rest in a grassy embankment along the right shoulder. It was later reported that the vehicle struck a large pole and flipped over. The exact details have not yet been confirmed by authorities.
