(KRON)– Crews rescued six people Saturday night from Davenport Beach after they attempted to climb the surrounding cliffs, according to Cal Fire CZU.
In a social media post, Cal Fire CZU said that the group had installed a rope at the top of the cliff to aid them in climbing the steep terrain. Three people from the group were on the rope when it snapped, sending them falling 30 to 40 feet to the beach.
The other three people were halfway up the cliff and got stuck due to the steep terrain.
