Mission Underground: Veterans find refuge from fireworks in Kansas mine

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KSNW) — While most Fourth of July celebrations involve fireworks shows, for some veterans, those loud booms can trigger painful memories.

On this Fourth of July, a first-of-its-kind program gave veterans a chance to escape the noise 650 feet underground.
