DENVER (KDVR) — A Denver police officer shot a man in north Denver Sunday morning after calls that he was harassing people with a knife, Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas said.
Two officers responded to the area of 50th Avenue and Washington Street in the Globeville neighborhood at about 11:40 a.m. after a call that the man was harassing and threatening people in the area.
Thomas said this is a recurring incident in the area of reports of the man harassing and threatening people, but police until Sunday had not been able to identify or contact the man. The officers did find the man with a knife in his hand and started giving him commands to put the knife down.
