SALEM Ore. (KPTV) – Salem police and fire crews responded to a reported explosion at a home in the 4200 block of Prairie Star Court NE at about 10:44 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2026, according to authorities.
When officers arrived, Salem Fire and Patrol personnel found multiple people injured. Five people were taken to the hospital, and four suffered significant injuries. Police said none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening at this time.
Officials said the blast was powerful enough to damage nearby vehicles and homes. A preliminary investigation indicates the explosion was likely caused by illegal mortar-style fireworks used outside of manufacturing guidelines…
