Two hurt in shooting, slashing in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (WNYT) – Schenectady Police said two 33-year-old men were hurt in what detectives believe were related acts of violence early Saturday.

According to police, officers responded around 3:30 a.m. July 5 to a report of shots fired near Mumford Street and Strong Street. Officers found a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the upper leg.

The department said the Schenectady Fire Department treated the man at the scene before he was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A short time later, police said, another 33-year-old man walked into a local hospital seeking treatment for a laceration to his face…
