SARATOGA SPRINGS — Regeneron Pharmaceuticals has been selected to participate in a new federal pilot program to “fast-track” pharmaceutical drug manufacturing facilities in the United States, a move that could accelerate construction of the company’s planned $2 billion plant in Saratoga Springs.
The Tarrytown-based biotechnology company was chosen by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its planned manufacturing campus on the former Quad/Graphics site in Saratoga Springs. The facility is expected to employ 1,000 workers once completed, in addition to about 500 construction jobs during development.
Regeneron, which already employs about 4,500 people in the Capital Region — primarily in Rensselaer County and East Greenbush — announced the Saratoga Springs project last year. The more than 1 million-square-foot facility is expected to cost $2 billion, with New York state providing $35 million in tax incentives.
The FDA’s new PreCheck Pilot Program stems from an executive order signed by President Donald Trump in 2025 aimed at expanding domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing.
