BOSTON (WWLP) – A former executive secretary with the Boston Housing Authority has been sentenced in federal court after admitting to submitting more than 100 falsified overtime forms that resulted in over $72,000 in fraudulent pay.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 42-year-old Helen Murray of Malden worked as an executive secretary for the Boston Housing Authority from 2017 to 2024. In that role, she collected weekly employee timesheets and overtime forms and was also eligible to earn overtime pay herself.

Any overtime Murray worked was required to be approved by senior management. After completing overtime work, she was expected to accurately fill out an overtime form and submit it electronically to her immediate supervisor for approval.
Instead, beginning in January 2023, Murray reportedly submitted overtime forms claiming hours she had not worked. Rather than sending the forms to her supervisor, she forged the supervisor’s signature without permission and emailed the falsified documents directly to the Boston Housing Authority’s payroll department…
