MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCIV) — The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office spent our country’s 250th anniversary weekend ensuring that all who celebrated did so in a safe and responsible manner.
Throughout the weekend, deputies were on high alert on both the roads and waterways, conducting traffic stops and assisting boaters in local lakes and rivers over the three-day period. The sheriff’s department handled its duties with grace by answering service calls while also working consistently to keep both residents and visitors safe.
According to the BCSO Traffic Unit, deputies issued a total of 152 traffic-related citations, including 3 DUIs, 58 for speeding, 20 for hands-free violation, 18 for seatbelt violation, 26 for driver’s license violation, and 27 others…
