Toddler hospitalized after almost drowning at Versluis Park, bystander gave CPR

KENT COUNTY, Mich. — A 2-year-old girl is in the hospital after almost drowning on Sunday afternoon.

Plainfield Township Fire Department (PFD) officials said someone pulled a 2-year-old girl from the water at Versluis Park in Plainfield Township on Sunday just before 4:30 p.m.

A bystander gave the unconscious girl CPR while another person grabbed a nearby Kent County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputy who was on duty at the park.

When PFD arrived a few minutes later, the girl was breathing and regained some consciousness…
