The annual Field of Flight Air Show & Balloon Festival returned to Battle Creek again this year for a special five day event celebrating the 250th Independence Day. Despite complications by storms and high winds throughout the festival’s schedule, thousands of aviation fans made their way to the event during the week.
Air shows throughout the week were headlined by the United States Air Force F-35 Demo Team when weather conditions allowed. The show, narrated by longtime air show announcer Phil Dacy, also featured civilian pilots and performers. Teams such as the Misty Blues All-Women Parachute Team, Jack Aces, NextGen Eagles and more performed aerobatic feats alongside music and pyrotechnic displays.
Though hot air balloon launches were limited, balloon pilots were still able to showcase their equipment in ground shows and meet-and-greet opportunities…
