MSCS oversight board salaries to be funded by school budget

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Members of the state oversight board for Memphis-Shelby County Schools will be paid through the MSCS school budget, according to state Rep. Mark White.

“The oversight Board members will be paid for their time the same as the elected members.This funding will come out of the MSCS SCHOOL budget,” White said in a message responding to a question from WREG. “This will take an extraordinary amount of their time and compensation is necessary!”

White said his understanding was that the nine board members’ salaries range from $25,000 to $30,000…
