The Petaluma Police Department has arrested two men following a pair of highly unusual firework incidents leading up to the holiday weekend.
The Petaluma Argus-Courier reports in the first case, a local man was booked for arson and felony threats after home surveillance captured him intentionally launching a mortar-style firework at his neighbor’s house during an ongoing dispute, sparking a fire on the roof.
In a separate incident, officers patrolling the Lynch Creek Trail arrested a Santa Rosa man who was carrying brass knuckles, prescription pills, and an illegal M-150 firecracker. Authorities are using the arrests to remind the public that Petaluma has a zero-tolerance policy for all personal fireworks, including sparklers…
