Iconic movie theatre, bowling alley, and giant sign along Route 66

ST. LOUIS – Let’s start our St. Louis Route 66 journey together on a high note, or rather, the Hi-Pointe. The Hi-Pointe neighborhood has one of the highest elevations in St. Louis City and is home to the historic Hi-Pointe Theatre.

“It’s a very old building. So, you sort of peal those layers back over time. But every time, the one core constant thing is that it’s been a community theatre,” Bree Maniscalco, executive director of Cinema St. Louis, said.
