SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) -The Ozark Empire Fairgrounds is hoping to move forward with plans for parking lot improvements after $2.2 million in state funding was placed under an expenditure restriction.
The funding is intended for new asphalt, striping, and other improvements to the fairgrounds parking lot.
What an expenditure restriction means
Unlike a veto, an expenditure restriction leaves the money in the state budget but places it in a reserve. Fair officials say the money can be released by the state Office of Administration when it becomes available.
