Dog dies after being pulled from Great Bend house fire

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Great Bend Fire Department said a dog died after a house fire on the Fourth of July.

It happened around 9:30 a.m. Saturday on Bonita Avenue, which is just northeast of 24th and Washington streets.

Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the eaves of the home. Once inside, firefighters found flames in a bedroom. They were able to quickly extinguish the fire.
