MERIDIAN, Idaho (CBS2) — The attorney for Sarah Elizabeth George is asking a federal judge to postpone her trial for at least four more months, saying the case has grown increasingly complex as thousands of pages of evidence continue to be turned over.
George is accused of stealing a Canyon County Paramedics ambulance from St. Luke’s Meridian in February, driving it into the Portico North building, and attempting to set the building on fire. The building contains office space leased by the Department of Homeland Security, including offices used by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Federal investigators allege George loaded gasoline cans that had been hidden near the hospital, drove the stolen ambulance through the building’s entrance, and poured gasoline throughout the lobby before fleeing.
