SALEM, Ore. (KPTV) – The Salem Police Department is investigating after a Fourth of July fireworks disturbance escalated into gunfire, leaving a 24-year-old woman injured.
At about 10:30 p.m. on July 4, officers responded to a disturbance in the 1400 block of Mill Street Southeast. One woman was found at the scene with a gunshot wound.
Police said an investigation showed a 54-year-old man and his son approached a group of about 20 young people who were lighting off fireworks in a private parking lot. The man, who is a groundskeeper for the property, asked the group to leave but they refused…
