WILLIAMSTON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Williamston Town Council has upheld the denial of a permit for a religious group’s event at a town park, rejecting an appeal from its organizers.
Town officials initially denied the request after community concerns surfaced about a participant connected to Mobile Outreach Ministry, the religious group that had been gathering in the park on Fridays for music and worship.
Police said social media posts claimed one person involved with the group was a registered sex offender.
