NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WAVE) – A man who was convicted in connection to the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Bryce Gerlach at the 2024 Harvest Homecoming will be going back to court over allegations that he lied on the witness stand.
According to a report from our partners at the News and Tribune, a probably cause affidavit was filed in late May in which a New Albany Police detective alleges Damarius Gardiner Person misrepresented his own memory of the shooting in an effort to paint himself in a better light.
Gardiner Person pleaded guilty to assisting a criminal and obstructing justice after admitting to investigators that he drove Isaiah Page back to Louisville after the shooting. Page was found guilty in February of firing the shot that killed Gerlach…
