WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The World Cup brought fans together to watch Team USA in downtown Wichita on Monday.
Even though Wichita is not hosting World Cup matches, it’s becoming part of the tournament experience, with hundreds, sometimes more than a thousand people gathering at Naftzger Park.
“We had over 1,000 people in the park each day that we showed these games… We’ve continued to have over 1,000 people in the park showing these games. It’s been wonderful for the community,” said Kaye Sears, assistant recreation supervisor for the City of Wichita.
