Motorcycle pursuit ends with South Carolina man arrested

HARTWELL, Ga. — A South Carolina man was arrested after allegedly fleeing from Hart County deputies during a motorcycle pursuit that ended safely July 6.

According to Hart County Sheriff Chris Carroll, a deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle shortly after 11 p.m. on Anderson Highway near Walmart after observing multiple traffic violations and receiving information related to a previous incident in Anderson County, South Carolina.

The motorcycle rider refused to stop, leading deputies on a pursuit through the City of Hartwell and onto Royston Highway. Deputies attempted to stop the motorcycle by boxing it in, but the rider allegedly drove through a ditch in front of the Purina facility and onto the driveway before deputies were able to bring the pursuit to an end…
