KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A substance one Michigan lawmaker called ‘gas station heroin’ will soon be removed from sale.
The Drug Enforcement Administration plans to reclassify 7-OH as a Schedule I drug under the Controlled Substances Act, meaning the compound will no longer be sold in convenience stores.
7-OH is a synthetic compound of kratom, a plant with leaves that are often used for pain relief.
