U.S. 17-92 turned into a crime scene in Casselberry on Tuesday afternoon, after a crash at Triplet Lake Drive killed two people, sent a third to the hospital and froze southbound traffic on one of Seminole County’s busiest corridors. First responders flooded the area as investigators moved in and authorities closed the roadway to sort out the wreckage.
Crash Details And Emergency Response
According to WESH, the Florida Highway Patrol, Seminole County Fire Department, and Casselberry police all responded to the multi-vehicle crash, shutting down southbound U.S. 17-92 at Triplet Lake Drive. Chopper footage from the outlet showed a heavy emergency presence and firefighters working around a charred vehicle as officers directed traffic away from the scene.
Fire officials told FOX 35 Orlando that a black BMW caught fire in the collision. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, and a third person was rushed to a hospital for treatment, the station reported.
