FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — The man who was shot the day after Independence Day died from his injuries on Tuesday.
According to the Fort Pierce Police Department, the shooting occurred around 3:43 a.m. on Sunday, near South 14th Street. When officers arrived, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. A woman had been shot in the hand, while a man suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Investigators said the victims had been involved in an earlier altercation on Okeechobee Road before returning home. As they arrived, a man believed to have been involved in the altercation approached and opened fire before fleeing the scene…
