Cranston neighborhood getting $1 million to address flooding

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — A flood-prone Cranston neighborhood is getting major infrastructure upgrades to try and protect homes during future storms.

Congressman Seth Magaziner joined city leaders at a press conference Tuesday announcing $1.09 million in federal funding for flood prevention improvements in the Garden Street area.

Magaziner’s office said the money will go toward improving the stormwater infrastructure in the Garden Street watershed which also includes Laurens Street, Grace Street and other low-lying areas nearby.
