Suspect in Benson homicide case changes plea

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A suspect in the shooting death of an Omaha teen on Dec. 12 in Benson has changed his plea.

Barry Burrus, 19, pleaded guilty June 29 to criminal conspiracy – robbery and no contest to possession of a deadly weapon in commission of a felony.

Burrus will be sentenced Sept. 24.

The other two arrested in the case are 20-year-old Kashmiere Burse and a 14-year-old boy. The boy has since had his case moved from adult to juvenile court. Burse is awaiting trial for 1st-degree murder…
