Woman accused of torching car with firework in Dutchtown

ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis woman appeared in court Tuesday afternoon for using a firework to torch a vehicle.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the fire happened on Sunday, July 5, in the 4000 block of Hydraulic Avenue, located in the city’s Dutchtown neighborhood.

Police said Christine L. Taylor, 34, poured an accelerant on the victim’s car and then tossed a lit firework into the vehicle.
