USS Marinette docks in Albany as part of America250

ALBANY — The Port of Albany welcomed the USS Marinette, a U.S. Navy combat ship, as part of the International Navy Review in New York Harbor and the Fourth of July and America250 festivities.

The USS Marinette is a Freedom-class littoral combat ship built by Fincantieri Marinette Marine in Marinette, Wis. Littoral ships are designed to operate in shallow coastal waters and tidal zones, conducting surface warfare and mine countermeasures.

Commissioned in 2023, the 378-foot vessel can reach speeds up to 40 knots and carries two MH-60R Seahawk helicopters for anti-submarine and surface warfare missions.
