Owners of the Hilton Marco Island Resort and Spa want to more than double the number of rooms at the beach-front hotel by building a second tower, however on only 10.5 acres, the expansion would exceed the city’s allowed density.
New-York based Olshan Properties, which built the Hilton in 1985, is requesting a rezoning to Planned Unit Development (PUD) from Resort Residential and to exceed both the height and units-per-square-acre limits in Marco Island’s comprehensive plan.
