REPUBLIC, Mo. (KY3) – A massive road project on Route MM is finally funded after 10 years and 10 rejections. The U.S. Department of Transportation awarded $23.5 million to the City of Republic, Ozarks Transportation Organization (OTO), MoDOT, and Greene County for the Route MM widening project.
Construction on this project was originally supposed to start back in 2022, with the first funding requests being sent out in 2016.
OTO submitted 8 federal funding requests and 2 funding requests at the state level over the last decade. They had no luck… until earlier this month when the U.S. DOT awarded $23.5 million…
