Mount Pleasant man accused of fleeing police on bike with a gun

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) — A man was arrested after he allegedly fled on a bicycle when officers attempted to stop him after officers found a gun in his waistband.

Michael Brown, 19, was charged with obstructing justice.

Mount Pleasant officers said they spotted Brown and another man riding bikes along Mathis Ferry Road on Tuesday after receiving reports that two young men matching their descriptions had been seen with guns in their waistbands at a Wendy’s on Long Point Road.

Officers activated their lights and sirens and directed the men to pull over using the patrol car’s public address system. Both men reportedly continued riding and refused to stop…
