GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Residents of Grand Rapids’ Oakdale neighborhood are continuing their push for safer streets after the Mobile GR Commission voted Wednesday to recommend that the City Commission find funding to install traffic signals at two busy intersections along Kalamazoo Avenue.
The discussion centered on the intersections of Kalamazoo Avenue and Griggs Street and Kalamazoo Avenue and Adams Street, where city officials say traffic studies have determined signals are warranted. However, Mobile GR currently has enough funding, approximately $800,000, to construct only one traffic signal.
