READING, Pa. (WHTM) — State officials on Wednesday heralded an effort they say will create and retain jobs.
Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials is expanding its Berks County operations which the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development said would add 42 jobs over the next three years and retain 441 existing jobs.
The Japanese company is expanding its Reading plant on Fairmount Avenue and is receiving $500,000 in state funding towards the $20.3 Million expansion project.
“Mitsubishi Chemical’s continued investment in Reading sends a strong statement about confidence in our city, our workforce, and our future,” said Mayor Eddie Morán. “The creation of 42 new jobs and retention of hundreds more strengthens our local economy and reinforces Reading as a place where industries can continue to grow and succeed.”…
