Anonymous woman honors fallen officer in Louisville with painted canvas

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — In late June, a police officer in Louisville died after a motorcycle crash.

Members of the Louisville Metro Police Department shared on social media that a woman dropped off a hand-painted canvas of Officer Anthony Elliott.

The woman asked that she remain anonymous, but she said that she wanted the family and department to have the painting.

On the back of the canvas was a message that read, “Hope someday this makes you smile.”

“In the midst of unimaginable grief, those words, and this beautiful act of kindness, meant more than we can adequately express,” officials said. “The painting is more than canvas and paint. It’s a reflection of something we’ve felt every day since this tragedy occurred.”…
