MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A company has proposed to reopen a now-closed major downtown Memphis hotel after a $55 million renovation.
The 280-room Doubletree Downtown Memphis at 185 Union Ave. closed in late 2025 after a previous renovation attempt stalled after the COVID slowdown.
Now, an Ohio-based company wants to reopen the property as a four-star, “boutique/lifestyle” hotel supporting 75 jobs.
