A man wanted on 10 outstanding warrants was arrested July 1 following a coordinated operation involving multiple units of the Austin Police Department.
According to APD, officers had been investigating Omar Martinez since June after identifying him as a violent gang member who was wanted on several felony and misdemeanor warrants, including a parole violation. Police said Martinez has prior arrests for offenses including robbery, unlawful carrying of a weapon by a felon, engaging in organized crime, drug manufacturing and delivery, evading arrest, and firearms smuggling.
Investigators said Martinez was wanted on charges that included delivery of a controlled substance, family violence by strangulation, evading arrest in a vehicle, felon in possession of a firearm, theft, interference with a request for assistance, tampering with government records, and several misdemeanor offenses…
