NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Louisiana Shrimp Festival & Shrimp Aid will return for its third year on Sunday, Oct. 18, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The festival will take place at The Broadside at 600 N. Broad St.
Its mission is to raise awareness of challenges facing Louisiana’s shrimping community and support coastal fishing families. According to a news release, Gulf shrimpers face an influx of cheap, imported farmed shrimp, high fuel prices, crew shortages and inadequate access to processing facilities and infrastructure.
