RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Jim and Caroline Rich have sold their flood-damaged Hidden Valley home and accepted an offer on a new house, nearly three weeks after a flash flood sent water, mud, rocks and debris through their property on June 19.
Jim Rich said the GoFundMe campaign set up by the couple’s daughters has raised more than $45,000 as of Wednesday. He said the money will go toward a down payment on a new home. The couple made an offer on a property and it was accepted, Rich said. He said the couple expects to close on the new home by Aug. 19.
“How can we suffer this loss and then be back in a home within two months?” Rich said. “That’s all because of the generosity of the community.”…
