This weekend, the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a community birthday party in downtown Hopkinsville, commemorating five decades of collecting, preserving and sharing the history of Hopkinsville, Christian County and the region.
The celebration begins at noon Saturday with the museum’s Birthday BBQ Bash on East Ninth Street. The block in front of the Pennyroyal Area Museum will be closed to traffic and transformed into an outdoor picnic featuring barbecue, live bluegrass music, historical programming and a recreation of the radio broadcast that inspired the museum’s creation.
