MULBERRY, Fla. — City leaders in Mulberry are continuing to invest in the historic Gem Theater, a once-vacant building they hope will become a central gathering place as the community grows.
The theater, which once operated as a movie theater and later became a chemical workers’ union hall, was purchased by the city in 2020. Since then, Mulberry has been restoring and expanding the space to host live performances, musicals, dinner-and-a-movie events, and other community programs.
